Sidney Sugars Incorporated, located in Sidney, MT, a subsidiary of American Crystal Sugar Company, currently has an opening for an Agriculturalist. The purpose of this position is to provide agronomic expertise to growers in the production of a high quality beet crop that increases the recoverable sugar per acre. Manage harvest operations and beet storage for assigned areas. Manage grower relationships within corporate guidelines to attract and retain sugar beet growers.
The principal accountabilities of this position include:
Make recommendations to assist growers in the production of a high quality beet crop with an increase in recoverable sugar and minimal production costs.
Maintain Agriculture Reporting System to ensure appropriate information is available for decision making purposes.
Maintain current knowledge of new research and technological changes to ensure growers receive up-to-date information on sugar beet agriculture.
Assist in the implementation of new technology in crop production.
Assist growers with harvest equipment and improved harvest techniques to maximize sugar recovery per acre.
Effectively manage receiving stations, supervise harvest crews, and ensure compliance with Company policies during harvest.
Promote beet seed variety selection to growers to contribute to the profitability of SSI.
Knowledge and Experience:
To be successful in this position requires an agri-business background typically gained through the completion of a degree in Agronomy, Ag Economics or a related field with two to three years of experience. Effective oral and written communications skills, supervisory skills and the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with growers are also required. A valid driver’s license is required. CCA certification preferred.

Bachelors Degree, Occupational Health & Safety major preferred, however BS in Engineering or Business related discipline will be acceptable with the proper experience.
Certified Safety Professional (CSP) is desirable.
Minimum five years manufacturing environment experience, preferably as an HSE Manager or HSE Director or leading Environmental and Safety effort in a metallic, steel or heavy industry in a safety capacity.
Expert knowledge of OSHA, EPA & NFPA requirements and local and state regulations are a must.

assess customers hosting needs by
examining current zones and assist in migration/creation of these records over
to Cavalier’s network
Coordinate actions with customers
to minimize downtime or system interruptions
Manage new, move, and hotcut
DS-1/EFM/HDSL circuit configurations for new and existing customer
Project manage complex data
installations to provide accurate delivery of services

Production Manager
Primary Purpose:
To organize, supervise and schedule all personnel in order to ensure efficient production of parts with the best material usage delivered to the customer on schedule.
Principle Duties and/or Responsibilities of Production Manager:
Verify accurate scheduling of presses
Focus on reducing Cost of Quality - internal and external failure
Participate in Six Sigma projects as needed
Attend and update at weekly Staff/AQP/CIP meeting
Focus on meeting Pay for Performance measurables
Maintain established manpower per Capacity Plan
Find and implement cost savings
Ensure press operators follow Standard Operating Procedures
Ensure all parts are made to customer requirements in accordance to company procedures
Participate in employee counseling and discipline as needed
Communicate Die Performance to Tooling Department via. Workorders
Communicate Equipment Performance to Maintenance Department via. Workorders
Meet and improve standard costs of operation both in material and output …continued from
Oversee and implement labor policy manual (employee handbook)
Focus on waste prevention in all areas of the manufacturing process
Quarterly updates in the company Newsletter
Recommend material specification improvements
Daily - ensure proper placement of manpower to meet schedule requirements
Daily - Review Production reports for accuracy and enter data into excel
Daily - Review Quality checksheets for accuracy and forward to QA
Daily - Forward Production Reports to Materials department for entry into Global Shop
Daily - prioritize with Materials department on Daily Shipments
Daily - ensure good shift communication between hourly & salary
Containment Checksheet when non-conformance is identified
Determine Overtime requirements (sort, rework, & weekend) and schedule accordingly
Power Up/Down Facility & set Security system
Ensure equipment PM's are completed by the operators
Responsible for Quality decisions and dock audits on off shifts (2nd & 3rd)
Responsible for Incoming Receiving on off shifts (2nd & 3rd)
Weekend contact of Scrap/Trash contractor for pick-up as needed
Accident investigations & follow-up
Die Set-up Sheet revisions > Die Location Sheet revisions
Employee Vacation schedules
Enforce safety policy and recommend improvements
Provide a safe working environment
Maintain housekeeping standards
Teamwork Skills Employees
Listen to each employee's problems and make sure to follow up on their suggestions.
Praise the employee for a job well done.
